GRAND JUNCTION POOL HOMES FOR SALE

Want to be ready for warm weather? Grand Junction has several pool homes that are currently on the market, just scroll down to take a look at all of them!

What to Know About Pool Homes in Grand Junction

Grand Junction sits at roughly 4,600 feet in Colorado’s high desert, where summer temperatures regularly climb into the mid-90s and the sun shines nearly 300 days a year. That combination makes a backyard pool genuinely useful here — not just a luxury — and buyers searching for homes with pools in Grand Junction will find them spread across several established neighborhoods.

The Redlands and Orchard Mesa are the two areas most likely to turn up pool homes. Both neighborhoods developed heavily in the 1960s through 1980s, when lots were generous and single-story ranch homes with room for a pool were the standard build. You’ll also find pool homes in newer subdivisions along the northeast corridor, particularly near 29 Road where larger lots still exist.

Because Grand Junction averages just 8 to 9 inches of rainfall per year, evaporation is a real factor in pool ownership. Expect to lose one to two inches of water per week during July and August — more if you run a waterfall or spa — which means water bills climb noticeably in summer. The local water supply is also moderately hard, so chemical maintenance requires a bit more attention than in wetter climates.

The comfortable swimming season runs from late May through early September. Gas heaters or heat pumps extend that window into April and October, and some owners with solar heating swim year-round. On the upside, the dry air means pool furniture and decking last far longer than they would in a humid climate.

Pool homes in Grand Junction may offer a slight premium over comparable non-pool properties, depending on pool age, size, condition and other factors. Browse the listings above, and reach out to the Cowan Home Team for local insight on any property.
